Things have also been a bit hectic at home. My son is working on trying to fit all of his classes in this last quarter so he can graduate college in June, however, you know how that last year is, he may need one more class that he will have to take in the summer. Needless to say, it's a bit frustrating. As for McKenzie, she is now in track season and is gearing up for prom, not one, but two! When did prom dresses get so expensive??? Here's the thing, when you see your little girl put on this beautiful garment and all of a sudden look so grown up and stunning...well...you have to buy it. How could you not? Kind of like what many of you must feel like when your girls try on our show clothes. Anyway, what fun we had shopping for prom dresses!
Polly and I have had a blast going to shows this year. Actually in the last 3 years we have gotten to know many of the other vendors well, and enjoy dinners together and just plain having a great time. Harrisburg has become one of our favorite places to go. Polly has rated the hotel we stay at with the best workout room, and I have to say I agree. After the show and dinner with friends, we enjoyed karaoke and dancing. Not that the karaoke was good, but it was very funny! We traveled on to St. Louis for March to the Arch. What an amazing job they do at putting on a show, and raising money for their chosen charity. Berry Fit was so glad that we were able to contribute one of our Breast Cancer Awareness jackets to the auction. We loved the "Ladies" Western Pleasure class. The "ladies" (guys) that dressed for the occasion were such great sports and so entertaining, and the crowd really got into the show and were very generous in their bids. We were so impressed that we are already looking forward to returning next year. HOWEVER...I don't think going into the Arch downtown is a necessity next time. Polly managed to drag me up there (Miss afraid of heights herself). Seriously, they ask you before you go up if you are afraid of heights or claustrophobic! I'm thinking...is there no room in the top??? Well I didn't think about how you get up there! I just assumed that it would be a NORMAL elevator, but NO, they put you in this little pod of a thing, 5 of you to a pod, sitting down knee to knee and hunched over! After the ride up, the heights were nothing! Trust me it is not a smooth ride!!! Regardless of the ride up or my fear of heights, I am so glad I went up. The view was absolutely amazing! Quite honestly, I really feel a little bit better after going up. I guess sometimes you just have to step out of your comfort zone. For once, I'm glad she forced me to do something. I will return the favor soon.
Finally back to Berry Fit until Equine Affaire and the Hoosier Horse Fair, both are on the same day again this year. Polly will be in Columbus and I will be in Indianapolis. It's very difficult for us to split our inventory and go two directions. We really do not want to choose one over the other as we have many people who come to see us at both and we didn't want to choose. Thank goodness this will be the last year that happens. If you are unable to attend either show and are in need of something, as always you can call Berry Fit and order over the phone.
